Even Instagram is starting to set strict rules for ad campaigns. But surely today's freedom for everyone to state what they are, renders ineffective any effective way of verifying the truth of any information posted daily on the Internet.
But where the danger really lurks is the Cosmetic Surgery industry. Specifically, a new study completed by Northwestern University mentions the fact that the majority of advertised cosmetic surgeries are provided by people who are not certified Plastic Surgeons.
In this study, only 18% of the ads were for established Plastic Surgeons. The other services advertised were offered by a variety of medical specialties and freelancers, such as hairdressers, dentists and massage and beauty companies.
