A comparative study of a random sample of people during the Oktoberfest in Munich, published in the Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, found the high incidence of skin problems in the general population.

Of a total of 2701 visitors to the German festival, 1662 of them showed at least one skin lesion (64.5%). The most common diagnoses were:

- Radial Keratosis (26.6%)

- Rosacea (25.5%)

- Eczema (11.7%)

The incidence of skin diseases increased with age and occurs more frequently in men (72.3%) than in women (58%).

An important conclusion, however, is that 2/3 of the patients who participated in the study did not know their problem!
