But despite the fact that surgery can be quite cheap, postoperative complications significantly increase the cost of the national health system. A new study by researchers at Brigham and Women's Hospital describes the range of complications of overseas surgery. This study was recently published in the prestigious journal Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
